Abstract
Background and aims: Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world and has a significant impact on women's health. In 2022, an estimated 2.3 million women worldwide were diagnosed with breast cancer. This cancer has significant physical and psychological effects on women that many of them face identity crisis. The purpose of this study is to review articles related to factors affecting quality of life in women with breast cancer. Methods: In this review study, information on Factors affecting quality of life in women with breast cancer was obtained from Persian and English databases including Irandoc, Magiran, Scopus, UpToDate, Elsevier Proquest, Iranmedex, SID, Ebsco, Science Direct, Google Scholar, Pubmed and web of science using Persian keywords and their English equivalent for “quality of life, Breast Cancer” based on MeSH (medical subject headings) from 2000 to 2024. Results: Out of 72 related articles, 43 articles were excluded due to lack of expression of improving the quality of life of patients with breast cancer, and finally 29 studies were included in the present review study. To collect information from the studies, the articles were carefully reviewed and the results were extracted. Conclusion: Many factors such as anxiety, depression, and fatigue can affect the quality of life of women with breast cancer. Therefore, in order to improve the quality of life and empowerment of women with breast cancer, in addition to focusing on medical and surgical treatments, the authorities should also be effective in the dimensions of supportive care.
